AMFS 2021

Only a few more days! Finish up those figures and models and prepare to hit the road, as the 2021 Atlanta Show is only 4 days away. Activities at the Marietta Conference Center will begin on Friday morning, February 19th with the AMPS sponsored workshop - 'Painting 1/35th Scale Figures" with instructor Brett Avants of Sabot Miniatures. The Show, Vendor Room and General Admission will all open at 7:00 on Friday evening. Because of pre-registration not being offered this year AMFS has decided to lower the Registration for this show to the pre-registration rate of $25. This is for unlimited entries in both the AMFS and the AMPS Shows... Two great shows for the price of one. If all your entries are ready and you want to get ahead of the game, you might want to visit the AMFS web page (www.atlantafigures.org) to download and fill out all of your registration forms in advance to save time at the registration area. The forms are the same as for 2020 so the forms are all good.

Due to remodeling, the Hotel Restaurant will not be open during the Show. The hotel bar will be open and will offer a selection of bar food along with liquid refreshment. The AMFS will offer free coffee and pastries on Saturday morning ( and possibly Sunday) from 7:00-9:00 AM in the main show area for any vendors or exhibitors who would like to partake.

As we have mentioned before we have added over 30% more space to the vendor area and added a separate rooms for both AMFS and AMPS displays. All vending will be on the main level with the displays all being on the lower level. This should allow for a great degree of "social distancing" for all concerned. The hotel requires that masks be worn in all public areas of the hotel and that social distancing be observed. Both the AMFS and AMPS will require than a mask or face covering be worn in all areas of the Show. The only exception will be small children, under the age of 5. Refusing to comply with the mask requirement will result in no admittance to, or removal from, the venue. Disposable masks will be furnished by the AMFS. In addition to the hotel's sanitation stations the clubs will furnish addition sites for hand cleaning.

As in past years, the Hospitality Room will be open on Friday and Saturday nights for those wishing a bit of conversation and a few drinks to relax a bit before bedtime. Note, as of this writing, this year the Hospitality Room will be on the main level of the hotel in Breakout Room H.

Finally we will mention that due to the current "situation" there will be no seminars as at past shows and no formal awards ceremony due to lack of space for social distancing. All awards and medals will be placed beside the winning displays before the Show opens at 9:00AM Sunday.

I’ve been waiting for this with baited breath, :) All the final planning I needed is done and now I’m just waiting for go time. Bit of a drive for me but I care not. I have been gathering my list for the vendors and hoping to get bases for projects that are crying out for the finish line.
