Evening all, more work has been done on my odds and ends - painted and weathered Pelisse, will have a flat top coat over the top when fully dry, the muskets are getting some colour, and the knapsacks are getting their straps painted, still more work to do.

With the Pelisse - I first layed down a Black primer, then Dark Green followed with a bit of White mixed with the Green to make a slightly lighter shade - ths was painted on the high light areas leaving the sunken shadow areas Dark Green, I then went over with a wash, then finished with a light dry brush dusting of my dust paint, its made to look dusty as it will be sitting on the dirty dusty road.

Pardon me for saying so but your bits are looking good! Really like the pelisse, faded and dusty, the detritus of war.

Cheers Simon

I am very impress with the work you have done on the pelisse, thanks for explaining the process.
As for the muskets , have you ever try Vallejo Smoke for the wood grain?

I haven't mate, would it work on such small scale?

W.

Heck yes!.
All you do is paint the base color in yellow ochre o tan, then use the Smoke.
I generally use 1 drope of smoke and a thin it a little with water and build the color as you add layers, the day Vallejo stop makimg this Smoke it will be the day i sop painting Muskets.

Trouble is - its a little late now as 70% of my figures have now been done and glued down into my dio.
