I do,nt want to be pickie but I read some where that the cavalry had their muskets taken away and given to the infantry due to a shortage of arms

My understanding is that Mullheads Cuirassiers kept theirs as they where an elite unit, not sure about the other cavalry.

Happy New Year Everyone, I did a bit more work today - I have created another dismounted Cuirassier this time brandishing his sword, I have also made another Three 54/55th Ligne troops.

That officer with sword looks great , what color of lapels, turn backs and cuffs will he be painted up?

Hi there Happy New Year, both dismounted will represent 4th regiment cuirassiers minus there cuirass (they where both damaged in battle so they took them off - well that's the idea).
The Lapels are Yellow same with the turn backs - cuffs are also Yellow but they are covered by their gloves.

They are a bit of a hit or miss and a good use of my imagination but guess in the battle anything could have happened.

I have spent over an hour, reading this thread from the very beginning!

It's an impressive work you're doing there!

And in... 28mm!!!... I already find it difficult with my 35mm figures... The hands are no longer what they were many moons ago, and neither are the eyes...

Anyways, great project! Keep them coming!

Cheers!

Thank you kindly Dolf, its been a learning curve - developing the skills for close up work under high magnification.

Evening all, some more progress - one of the Curassiers is missing his shoulder epauletts, so uisng some spare arms I fashioned a couple by hollowing out the backs to make a curve - fiddly work, I also fitted a sword scabbard.

Morning all, not much done just more of a heads up for what I plan to do next - the other Cuirassier I plan to model as an officer, he will have different shoulder detail with just detail on the one shoulder, and next to nothing on the other - and Silver in colour not Red like the other troops.
