Young Miniatures brought to us this month their release of a WWII B-17 Waist Gunner. Sculpted by Young B. Song with the box art painted by the talented Sang Eon Lee this kit is comprised of 12 resin parts.

Arriving in Young's traditional sturdy black box with a clear plastic sleeve around it to keep it closed the bust was sandwiched between several layers of foam for the protection of the parts during shipping. I am not sure if this is the norm for this kit but I did receive extra parts sprue as shown above.

The separate cast head has a casting block on the bottom of the neck which I easily removed for later photos. The above four views shows the attention to detail Young has yet again given us.

Conclusion:
Another excellent bust kit from Young Miniatures. All dry-fitting I did was good with only mold blocks to remove. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the close up look at this one, Guy.
Another brilliant piece by Young Miniatures and another superb example of box art painting as well,~ great bust!

It looks great!

just out of my own curiosity what makes it a waist gunner and not simply aircrew?

Roger.

Roger, good point. I had the same thought. Maybe it just sounds neater to title it that. Since I'm a short, fat guy, I'm gonna call mine a ball-turret gunner since I would have qualified for that position based on stature. Not that I would have looked half that suave in potrait form! You think an Oompa-Loompa would be considered portarit worthy for a Young bust? Hmmmmmmmmm.....:D:cool:
