Saw these papier-mâché dioramas in the latest Osenat catalogue. Done by a veteran corporal of the 19th line who served in Napoleon's army. Auction estimate for the 3 pieces is 4000 to 50000 Euro. Very cool.

I think this is truely wonderful. Just think, even a bloke who served in Napoleon's Army had a fascination in reproducing it in miniature.
Which goes to show - nothing is new. These may be the first Napoleonic figures made after the wars themselves.
Love the Napoleon by the fire at the front!

Whoever buys these must have deep pockets. Good luck to him. I just hope they will end up on show somewhere for the public to enjoy.

Would be interesting to see at what price they go .

I will try to remember to check. Osenat publishes results. The original dioramas apparently has glass spheres or domes to protect them.....perhaps the Russia one was the first snow globe :). Note that the Osenat catalogues are also a mine full of original artifacts, weapons, paintings etc for anyone interested in Napoleon.
