Such sad news Susie and commiserations on your loss. The first figure I ever bought for my collection was a Box Art Napoleonic figure he painted for Poste Militaire which was in the Ray Lamb Collection. The collection is now 650+ deep but that is the last figure I would ever part with. I loved his painting style and spent years trying to copy it-sadly to no avail

Very sorry to hear of Graham's passing. He was one of several inspirational modellers to me when I was a youngster, his work was always amazing and his articles a joy to read.

Graham along with Ray Lamb, David Grieve and Richard Almond were a great inspiration to me. Graham's painting of Ray's sculptures were a combination never equalled imho.

I have quite a few Poste Militaire figures that Ray Lamb sent to him to paint for box art and magazine covers. They are no longer available from what I can see online. They are boxed and unpainted, he obviously didn’t get round to doing them.

Graham Bickerton is my Dad. I’ve always been so very proud of his artwork and he was dedicated to it and an amazing. He recently passed away on 19th September 2024 aged 79. If anyone wants to get in touch about my Dad or his amazing artwork I can be contacted at [email protected]

Did your Dad used to attend Euromilitaire in Folkestone? I ask because when I started going to that show in the late 1990s, I used to marvel at the work of Max Longhurst and a guy I knew only as "Graham". Both highly talented painters who used to sit alongside each other painting away and explaining their techniques to anyone who wanted to pick up some tips. I used to enjoy talking to both of them and they were an early inspiration to me.

I never knew Graham's surname and I wonder now if that might have been your dad? His age when he passed would about fit.
