I will accept minmal casting seams but with the technology, materials and market competition nowadays, mold shift and excessive pitting are not.

Very unfortunate. I was considering buying this one but I think I'll pass now.

Anders have you contacted the company?

Looks like a few of us have the same issues, unless the three of us just happened to get the 3 bad ones out of the batch of 50. I hope this is fixed for future releases though, as these should not have passed QC.

Paul, I have not contacted them and probably won't, I'll just wait until the metal casting comes out and pick one up at a show where the cast can be inspected. It's an amazing sculpt and in reality I could fix the one I've got, but since I've got two copies of most Latorre figures I can just keep this one as the 2nd copy and paint (or more likely possibly paint) the other one.

Hi Anders;

Sadly, you can count my copy as one of the "bad" ones too. I will have to almost completely re-sculpt one of his legs because of severe mold shift, countless bubbles and pitting in the resin surface. It wouldn't bother me so much if it weren't for the "special limited addition" status. I think I would have been better served waiting for the regular release in metal. Still, it's a great sculpt and I will fix the problems in my copy (I'm too cheap to pay for another)and hope the less than stellar reviews prompt Latorre to reconsider his choice of casting contractor.

Wow! Maybe I got a good copy :) other then the mold shift the resin is solid except for a small air bubble in the arm.

How disappointing that now at least 4/50 are of inferior quality, seems like it's not an isolate case.

Hi all i've just uploaded copies of my figure there are seams on the left arm , but not too substantial, and well inline with other resin releases. this will easily clean up. you might be able to argue that with a limited release, and a premium price the standard should be higher, but i'm more than happy with my example

Jon

Mine arrived this morning and I'm pleased to report that it's great, minimal flash but wom't take long to clean it up.

My number is 48/50.

A big thanks to Latorre for their quick response when I chased the figure this week (it's been with the UK Post Office since the 20th August) and well done to them for listening to modellers concerns and acting on them on this forum.

I've got to say though, it's a great sculpt and I positively encourage Latorre to continue producing great figures like this.

Hi everyone:

First of all, we apologize again to all Latorre Models/Toison Studio clients who adquired our new reference TS/04 Resin Limited Edition - British Officer Camel Guards Regiments, 1885 Sudan War and received faulty copies.

In spite of the great amount of photographs that prove the bad quality of the figures and accessories of this edition, the company wich actually work with us, and made the copies, MODELS MASTER, hasn´t replied to our claims during all this time.

The only excuse we have received from them it´s that the company “goes to change the actual direction staff” (?), but they don´t attend any responsibility with their work!!. This is absolutely unacceptable for us. Our aim is get the best quality for all, to us and to all the people who respect our Company.

That´s why Latorre Models / Toison Studio declare publicly that WE DON´T WORK WITH MODELS MASTER ANYMORE. The next special editions of our future references will be done with other company. In fact, the new company has done the copies for the affected customers and, today, 17th September, these have been sended.

Again, we regret all the delays and inconvenients beyond our control.

Thank you to all of you

Yours sincerelly

LATORRE MODELS CREW
