A very original release, the figures all complement each other but would also work equally well as stand-alone pieces or in pairs/threes etc. The painting is sublime.

Personally I think the "circus people" comment is a bit harsh and is probably based largely on the presence of a midget in the ranks. But everyone's entitled to their opinion, and as the old saying goes: You can't please all of the people all of the time.

Sorry but I don't like these figures.
Seem a bad joke.
Like Spanish and reader of the history about "Guerra de Independencia" (War of independence or Peninsular War for British friends) the types described here are a pure collection of insense topics.
Do you know a spanish painter named Goya? And his magistral collection of drawings about "Los desastres de la guerra" (War disaster)?
This is only fantasy, a Disney colorful version.... Circus people.

I think I see where Super Anto is coming from, I don't think the word circus is intended literally. I think he means that the piece may be seen as a trivialization or a romanticized view of the conflict. We all know the French perpetrated atrocities but the Guerrillas did too. Who was first? Maybe a figure of a dragoon hanging from a tree to balance things up a bit?? ( and no, that last comment was not meant to be taken seriously).

Hugo, I love your work; I have no problem with your research, accuracy or sculpting which are top notch, but maybe, like Super Anto, I do feel that the group makes it look like everybody there is having a lovely day out. The choice of stereotypical characters suggests to me the depiction of a light hearted movie cast rather than the "freedom fighters" of reality. I suppose it's a matter of interpretation.

I do like the two individually available figures very much though, especially the female. I would buy either or both of those. I think any of the figures would work better individually than as a group.

The monotone picture of the woman seems to have a more relaxed expiration than the one shown in the colour pictures where she seems to be scowling. Is that just the paint job or because the pictures are 3D rends?

Just superb, both the sculpting and the painting.
one very small criticism is that some of the pistol locks appear to have been transposed.
you are to be congratulated on coming up with something very different. Should do well.

Hello Mr. Steve

My apologies for the delay answer... What I tried symbolize its a national moviment where everyone is united in the same goal... Defeat French... I tried put a person with distinct formation, like a priest, a child with a Spanish dog race, the Spanish Alano, a lady and a men and the award its a symbol of "disable" people, with all the militations they have they belong to the group. I understand it was an idea very new and sometimes when we do things very different we have to be prepare for other point of views and Im prepare...

Mr. Super Anto have his opinion and I respect her. This is a hobby where people can learn together, because the history sometimes isnt so clear. Of course ive my opinion too, and I study a lot before do all our pieces... We have to accept the difference and the other views and opinions...

Thank you so much.

Hello Mr. David

My apologies or the delay answer... Thank you so much for your comment... Its what I said in previous post... I tried symbolize a national moviment where everyone is united and together to defeat the Napoleon troops, where I try to get a few different status of society in that time. This is a hobby and everyone have right to have their opinion and of course ive mine... The important its we enjoy the moment, painting and with family and friends. This the hobby.., Allow people enjoy the moments... Just to finish... The group have people watching and studied the positions and at some time the dwarf and the child are the funny guys of the group... Again, like today in each group there are people more relaxed and funny than other... If you see the figures are up are the serious guys... The figure in a different level are the funny.. We are talking the interaction between a child and the dwarf. It was deliberate do that in that way... I believe in next launch I will try to explain a little the concept... For example, other detail... The lady and priest have the same wind movement in clothes. They are in the same level, subject at the some kind of wind... Its just another touch...

Thank you so much for your words and gain my apologies for the delay answer...

With best regards

The paint isnt a render. It was painted by Konstantin Pinaev.

Thanks Hugo. I understand the concept and I'm sure many others (particularly the painter oriented crowd) will go for it big time. The group is just not for me, but I have just had a great idea (which I'm keeping close to my chest) for the leader and the girl figures, so you might still get some money off me anyway:LOL:.

That's a great paint job.

David.
