Thank you Kev ;)

This is really lovely! I like the vivid style and the setting you’ve created. I’m now fighting the urge to pick up the 120mm version from MMM.

Great work, some real inspiration.

Excellent job. I do like the bust, but I think I will wait and see what the full figure looks like before making a wallet decision.. Kneeling would certainly suit this figure, especially how you have depicted him..

Thank you warren,I’m not sure if there are any plans for a kneeling version

Thank you Mike,Jim Evan’s would be the guy to sort out legs

I've only just seen this, and I agree with all the previous posters, you have done an outstanding job on this. The base/background (can a bust have a 'base' 🤔😀) is superb, a good representation of the kind of house corner/garden that are prevelant in that area.
Mitches do a version with legs, in 120mm. There is a version of this figure, on its own, with a base and heavily damaged wall section, and a vignette of this figure and a Para with a Bren gun, on a base with the wall and a drop supply container.
I love both figures, but not the base, and unfortunately the Bren gunner is not available seperatly, so I'll be ordering the Para with the Enfield rifle. I'll be making my own base aswel, mainly because I don't think the ruined wall fits with the Para's in full webbing order, with their toggle ropes and carrying a bandolier of rifle ammo. They look like they have just dropped, and are en route to their objective. At that time, the buildings had not yet been subjected to the heavy bombardment by the Germans. When they were fighting close quarters around Arnhem (when the buildings had sustained heavy damage), they didn't carry their haversacks and toggle ropes etc anymore, and rarely had enough ammo to need to wear a cumbersome bandolier. I'm thinking of something along wht you have created, or him standing behind a tree or something.

Lovely work as usual Brian! The additional environmental details really bring it alive!

I recently attended the FENS model figure show in Ely and picked up Gordon’s latest Para,it depicts a para with his M4 Mark 1 rifle raised and taking aim in the heat of battle.
This half figure won’t be for the faint hearted modelers out there, there is an awful lot to paint, some of which I did when attached to the figure,I couldn’t risk damaging the paintwork if I’d painted it before attachment, careful thinking out is required here, straps also have to be added in places as well.
The piece comes with 2 heads, one with the helmet or the beret version,I prefer the beret version myself so this was the option I went for.
All the under painting was done in acrylics and finished in oils, metallics were from the GW range.
Having studied lots of photographs of the battle of Arnhem,I noted there was a lot of quite modern looking houses as well as the old European Dutch style, gardens were also featured and a lot of house to house fighting was done in the houses and gardens as the paras tried to gain ground in the struggle to reach the main Arnhem bridge.
I wanted my para to be on a corner of such a scene picking out an unfortunate target while at the same time using the house corner for protection.
The half figure is produced by Gordon Mitchell at RDG miniatures,he has some excellent paras in his range, highly recommended for anyone interested in the Market Garden Campaign.
I just need to add the small ball for the bolt action on the rifle now.
