The view count for this this has gone pretty high and yet no one has commented since Monday. I know that it's all over Facebook, so is that where the numbers are generated from?

Really, really cool concept! This would be very beneficial to several museums as well.

I found this thread while doing some research on WWI miniature gaming. Not sure if you are into historical miniature gaming but if you are or not you should check out this blog even if it's just from a modeler's perspective.

this made the front page of reddit the other day, reddit is a monstrous aggregator of content so they are most likely responsible for driving the traffic.

I should add that the front page posting was from imgur but someone in the thread pointed everyone to this planet figure post.

Chris,
Andy Robershaw is the one who dug up his garden. My wife has forbidden me do do that! Most of my models are very small scale and don't take up much space in the house - therefore I've been happily married for nearly 30 years!

I've had a good laugh over the weekend. My daughter pointed out that the reason why my Facebook posts got virtually no response for a month or two was because I had the privacy setting so that only two people could view them!!! So this silly old fart managed to get on the front page of Reddit while posting to two people until I created this posting!!!! Social media is weird!

I've been working on my dugout today. Adding some ammo boxes, cigarette packets and some reduced copies of letters sent by my Grandfather during the Great War.

I'm trying to get as much done as I can before they go into the Remembering 1916 Exhibition.

Hey, I'm from Reddit. I registered an account here and waited through the approval period just so I could post in this thread. The first image in your set- the 'Ideal' Trench- keeps making the front page of Reddit and Imgur, and it's being reposted unattributed. It's very popular there. Fortunately some nice people in the comments have been linking back to here on some of the posts, but I really feel the one image on its own without context isn't doing your work justice- also, if you care about imaginary internet points, someone is stealing yours.

Reddit and Imgur are extremely friendly to creators coming in and taking claim of their work, and if you made an Imgur gallery of your finished trenches with some historical context, and a separate one showing some of your construction process, and posted them both to appropriate subreddits on Reddit, I think they would both be received very very well. (Use a different headliner image, though- otherwise they'll think it's another repost.) To clarify, Reddit is a link aggregator and discussion forum that does not host images; Imgur is an image hosting service, with its own front page and separate comments system, which is the preferred image host of Reddit.

Here are the posts I can find where your trench model has shown up, in chronological order:

https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/4gkw31/british_wwi_trench_cross_section/

Note that the Reddit posts are just linking to the Imgur posts; the first Imgur post has its own comments, but the second was set up without them.

Again, I really strongly encourage you to resubmit your work in a full gallery and take credit for it, with your own brief descriptions on each photo. If you'd like to link to the exhibition as well at the same time, you'll probably get some attention for it- there's over two million views on the picture of your model already, and some of them have to be from people near enough the exhibition to attend.

The viewcount on this is going wild again. Does anyone know what and where it's been linked to now?
The models will be going into the Remembering 1916 Exhibition hopefully soon now, although its been a slow process.
