Anyone that tries to 'Haggle', usually gets some very short thrift from me! by way of. 'On yer-Bike'.

I have come across a few chancers in the past.;)

This is an interesting debate. As someone who has purchased and sold figures on this forum and never had a problem, I think the forum is fine the way it is. That being said, I do understand that other people may have had a very different experience. I would not be opposed to reasonable posting requirements, but keep in mind that we all benefit from the market place as there are usually fantastic deals to be found and an excellent audience to sell your unwanted kits to. Just my two cents worth of opinion.

That was during you stint with Fiat no doubt:D

Just still haven't figured out how you got those medals unless you bought them for a pinch at a fleamarket in Palermo, official certificates from The Holy Father and Berlusconi included of course.

Glad to see you have a sense of humour ,I like that :D
Oh just noticed you have a gold star as well ,. Superb !!

....... right that's it I'm beginning to sound way too Establishment:facepalm: .......... haven't had a beer for the last 13 days.
Abnormality will be resumed tomorrow :woot:

Late to the party, but my mustard is that someone should have at least reached a minimum number of posts before being allowed to post items for sale. As other posters have noted, I have seen similar rules at other forums, to try to reduce the possibility of fraud.

Prost!

All it takes is some common sense, would I buy a kit from an established member of the forum? Yes I would and have done on several occasions.
Would I buy from someone who has been a member for a short period of time and who's only contribution has been to offer stuff for sale..... do I need to go further?
Which leads to another question, do we need additional rules and restrictions? I don't think so.

You! Establishment? ... Perish the thought.:D

Although I do hear plans for a 'State Funeral', once you hang up your brushes, and lingerie.

Fair point Gary, that's why I proposed a site presence.
This should relate to activity across a range of forums for say 4 months, not someone accumulating 80 posts 78 of them in Market and Commissions.

I concur with you on this Del.

A while back (while still a mod), I suggested that members should be required clock up a certain number of posts before they can start buying or selling on here. I know other sites (Britmodeller for one) operate such a system.

However, there didn't seem to be much take-up, and such responses that I did get were that this would be seen as "elitist". But I disagree. No system will ever be 100% foolproof in terms of keeping out chancers & shysters, but I don't think that making trading a "priviledge to be earned" (for want of a better description) is such a bad thing. Doesn't need to be excessive, or overly complex.

And in reply to your initial post Del, besides the "serial buyers" (and what most of them actually mean is "who will take the hit by flogging me this kit at 2/3 to 1/2 retail, because I'm too tight to pony up full whack myself?"), there are also guys who only ever post when they have something they want to sell.

Keep it simple, Nobody or organisation likes to be used and abused.
If it is felt that a person who just appears and wants sell or buy in the first 5mins of joining.
Let it be known that we as a group do not appreciate being used, and politely tell them to do one
and boycott the thread. If we dont buy them he wont be able to sell.

This I have tried to do! ... To no avail. I know of 3 persons that are in this game. :(

But as stated, this comes down to the individual seller and their choice to sell or not.
