Absolutely fantastic Brian. Pictures are not as bad as you think. You have a nice even light all over figure. Depth of the field is good. It keeps whole figure in focus. If you are looking for more contrast in the picture set the light above the figure.

If you do not mind I would suggest to push background much further back from the figure. You will loose the figure shadow cast created by the light source. This by itself will improve the picture overall. Once you have background pushed back use a center weight mode to measure exposure.

If you would like to ask for some details, shoot me a private message. Good luck.

I'll try what you suggest Piotrec. Most of my problems are the light source, these last pictures were taken with just natural light coming in a window on a dull day. It's the first time i've tried this as i've used different lamps in the past.

Really great work Brian!.. Its one of those figures that you just want to keep looking at!! because of the subtle, but also crisp colours and shading.(y)(y)

Thanks Mark i greatly appreciate your liking of the figure, as enjoy painting, but if others enjoy my work that's a big bonus.

Beautiful job Brian. Some great brushsmithery going on there. Love those muted tones. Shading & highlighting top-notch. Oils or acrylics?

And there's nowt wrong with your photography either.
