A couple of Tunison pieces that I painted a while ago. I touched up a few things I thought needed work and added some weathering. About 1/6 scale.

Hi Joel. These wonderful pieces were sculpted buy Ron Tunison who unfortunately passed away in 2013. All of Ron’s pieces are limited edition cold cast bronzes and are just spectacular. They are rare, hard to find and often very expensive. You can find them on eBay and often The Horse Soldier in Gettysburg will have a piece or two available.

Len, Nice job on the Tunison bronze figures! (y) Thanks for sharing!

I'd normally say it would be sacrilege to paint of of these. But having seen your work I will change my mind this time. The fact that you've managed to paint so well in so large a scale is testament to a great deal of skill.

They must be about a foot tall. How much do they weigh?

Thanks for the nice comments gentlemen. I had no intention of painting these until I saw a couple of pieces Ron had painted himself. They were magnificent and I just had to try painting one. I was very happy with the results and I was hooked. I do a lot of research to make sure they are painted accurate and outside of painting I don't alter the sculptures in any way. The figures themselves are about 12" high, about 14" with the base. I'm guessing they weigh about 5 pounds. They are cold cast (resin) bronze, if they were hot cast bronze I wouldn't even think about painting them. I attached a photo of another I painted. I posted it here before maybe you haven't seen it.

Thanks,

Len
