Still plugging away on this one, my goal is to have it done by the end of May. The groundwork is done, minus the white bits around the horses hooves. What you see on the horse is just an acrylic undercoat, which will be covered with oils, but as you can see I've already laid in preliminary tonal variations, which will serve as a guide when I finish it with the oils. More to come . . .

Looks very good already Jason. And this only with the basecoat, geez...

It looks like you have a plan, with the reins on stand-by.... Are they lead foil?

I will follow with interest!

Cheers,
Adrian

Very nice paintwork and groundwork Jason. Can I ask what colours you started with for your bay horse - I am working on one at the moment but mine looks very flat. How do you get that slightly golden brown coming through the muscles in the legs?
cheers

Rob, Carl, Costas, Stralis, Tse, Adrian, David, Marc, Mat and John:

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Costas - the grass is a combination of field grass by Woodland Scenics and static grass.

Adrian - yes, the reins are lead foil.

Mat - my vallejo base coat is just German Camo Black Brown, Flat Brown, a little Chocolate Brown, and Orange Brown. Just add more Orange Brown to get those nice, warm highlight tones.
