They look great Ken, can’t wait to see this come together. I’ve made a few of the MB Native Indians and agree they are great. Love their ACW range and the new additions to their Indian war series are great as well, lots of potential to create some interesting figure dioramas. ICM have also made a couple of ACW series that look quite similar to MB, looks like they may have a bit of collaboration going on.

Many thanks Marcus! Seeing what you are doing with plastic kits makes your comments much appreciated. I also noticed the ICM kits and keep hoping they will do a few Western kits. :)

After the welcome comments on the figure layout, I present my second iteration.

First I found a slightly larger base and then decided to change the figure layout from a side view to a slightly more head on view. To do this I added a bit more complexity to the groundwork layout and included several more pieces of slate, a dead tree and log. Some of these details may change a little when I added the final vegetation.

Although the 4 figures are still in a box layout, I think the changes are an improvement and now I'll add the Magic Sculpt to tie it all together.

Thanks for following,
Ken

A great project Ken and the latest composition works well. I envy your ability to work at this scale - my eyes just aren't up to it any more. I'm going to enjoy following along.

Watching with interest, Ken- Great start(y)

Great work Ken

Off to a great start! Looking froward to seeing this one develop

Thanks Neil, Peter, Mike and Scott! Now that I have a plan, I'm looking forward to more progress. I just have to put the jigsaw pieces together on a wooden base. :)

One last photo for the day. For those who haven't seen my work before, I thought I'd show what I meant by using Magic Sculpt to tie things together. Not the greatest photo but it will make more sense once it is painted. Right now it's a few pieces of slate floating in a sea of white Magic Sculpt.:)

Cheers,
Ken

You really excel at these "minis", Ken! (y)

And a subject I love! ;)

Looking forward for more, as this WiP develops.

Cheers!

Hi Ken,
Looking forward to this one. I would like to see what the overall effect on the vignette if you swapped the 2 left hand figures around and had the kneeling one in the foreground.
cheers

Thanks Richie! Interesting idea. Right now they have been pegged for my painting holders and won't stand by themselves. I plan on painting and taking photos of the base and each figure individually. Once they are all painted and ready to be added to the base, I'll take photos of several different layout combinations. I'll be open to recommendations from anyone on the forum at that point. (y)

Thanks for the suggestion and help! :)

Hi Ken,
Really looking forward to seeing more mate, I love your little 1:35 vignette's, so much so I might just buy a couple of boxes for a serious conversion job.
cheers

Thanks Richie! I'd look forward to you doing that. My efforts are obviously more enhancements than conversions. Probably due to my shorter attention span.
