Maybe when we get settled behind a couple of drinks, Colin, I'll tell you some warstories from my memoires about Toronto area ripper bars when the French Connection was still active in the '80's... Tony's East, The Brass Rail, Zanzibar's, Caddy's, Fantasia, The Filmore, Chez Paris, The Silver Dollar... Ah, the follies and foibles of a misguided youth.

Tales of Whiskey, Women and War.
I still marvel at the fact I managed to get this old. ;)

I've just been informed that there is going to be a 3d printing firm on the premises and will take requests for busts and figures. I'm assuming they will do them on site, about $35 for a small bust and around $70 for approx 70mm fig. More details at the show.

Well I am here and have just met up with Mike Stevens :) , luckily I live 5 minutes from the hotel (y)

theres some real quality pieces on show again this year

I should raid my son's closet, all his Blackhawk gear would have me blending right in the Chicago landscape. I'll leave my Flyers sweater at home though.

Great show this year. I had a lot of fun. Congrats to those that won medals. It was excellent putting faces to names. Looking forward to next year.

Cheers

Well that was fun! First major show and I chose a good one. What a great bunch of hosts those guys are in Chicago! Not surprisingly, given this was their 40th annniversary show, they really know how to put on an event. Very well organized with everything rolling out seamlessly, at least from the visitor perspective. I got to meet quite a few PF folks on my list (but not all sadly). Guess I will have to go back next year. Seeing the figures in real life vs. through the lens was a major wake up call for me....I will never again consider myself able to opine on show entries unless I have seen them in peson. And I came home with some nice swag and a head full of ideas :). All in all a great weekend....thanks to the MMSI!

One hopefully constructive suggestion - provide heavy black markers for the name tags. With my old eyes I had problems reading the damn things when they were in motion and written only in ball point pen. I think I might have recognized and met a few more people if I could have read their tags.
