Looking good Gerard, although to me he looks a little boss-eyed in the second pic but I think it may be the camera angle making the nose protector hide a little of the right eye. He looks almost as slim and athletic as me

Hi Billy, About the boss-eyed looking it's the nose-guard that causes this effect from certain viewing angle but I won't touch it..

I've bought this one recently and certainly didn't think of him as chubby. Perhaps he needs that bit extra weight to hang on to that Dragon Standard in a stiff breeze.

Brilliant start on the painting, a much better look than the light blue used on the boxart. Maybe I just expect Dark Age/Early Medieval figures to have a more drab appearance.

... And you were right taking a look to the number of likes recieved! LOL.

Now talking little more seriously, that beer belly effect is often seen on guys wearing a chain mail because of the mail had to be left loose above the belt to allow a full movement of the shoulders and arms when in combat. So that creates that "bag" effect over the abdomen. Perhaps the same explanation situable here.

(Anyway no offence intended... I'm also playing in the Beer Belly League)

And also very common on elder warriors that doesnt do the actual fighting any more or at least not so often.
Its almost like a norse/saxon/normand/anglo-saxon trait.

Hi Gerard,I really love the colours you chose for the clothing,they look more like the colour that was originally used in that period,it looks great,you don't have to go mad with the weathering but I'm looking forward to see how you add the final touches

Thanks Gary, I was indeed a little concerned about that, so I decided to spice up the whole thing adding an easy pattern of rings and "scales" on the draco's tail, being inspired on the following pic.
