A French & Indian war Exhibit will begin on May 1, 2005 and run through April 15, 2006 at the Senator John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center, in Pittsburgh Pa. For those that have an interest in the period this promises to be one of those once in a lifetime exhibits to see. It will showcase around 300 original relics and period paintings in addition to 9 lifesize figures built by Illustrator Gerry Embleton's company Time Machine. I will be goint to see the exhibit next week and hope to post an article on Pf. If you're within driving distance it's a must see event.

The next photo shows Illustrator Gerry Embleton preparing one of the figures for the display

well, it looks like the time has come to visit the Forks of the Beautiful River :)
driving distance - well, perhaps it all depends on your review.
this exhibit may merit going over there:), besides the vistas are beautiful

Hello Gary, for the Nicaraguan Fans of the French & Indian War who could not attend to the exibition where can we find photos or articles on the subject, any special website,

Thanks, buen viaje Dario¡¡¡¡
Eduardo.

Dariusz, There is plenty to see in Pittsburgh. In addition to this museum there is the Fort Pitt museum at the point park. They just recently expanded the museum and add more exhibits. A lot of the exhibits feature diorams with figures ranging in size from 1/72 or HO to 1/4 scale, in addition to some life size pieces. There dioramas do not rank with the quality we see at the larger figure shows, but they are still neat to look at. If you venture an hour or so southeast of Pittsburgh, The Bushy Run battlefield and Fort Ligonier are within an hour or so away. The exhibit will be there for a year.

Here is a link to some articles on the display.

Guy, I sure will. I'm really interested in taking lots of pictures of the lifesize figures by Embleton. From the few pictures I've seen they are going to be very nice. Seeing that Pittsburgh is only two hours from home, I'll probably see the display a few times.~Gary

Hi All

This looks like it will be a terrific exhibition. If Gerry Embleton's work at the Leeds Armouries in UK is anything to go by, it would even be worth a trip across the pond for FIW buffs.

Interesting Mr Embleton seems to use his own image a fair bit in his work - the guy on the left is his twin! You can usually find his likeness somewhere in his artwork in Osprey's MAAs - any why not. He's got a very characterful face and having met him, I found he's a thoroughly nice bloke too!

Gary - any photos you can post will be much appreciated

Regards

Phil
