James - a good little snow scene. The painting of white and camo is very good too for what you said earlier were going to be practice figures. I agree with Carl though that the weapon looks like it isnt really hanging with any weight from the shoulder sling. If you were inclined to adjust it maybe a more convincing effect could be got by hanging it underneath the arm instead?

thanks guys, i never glued his gun on i was thinking of leaning it against the tree stump but haven't decided yet.

Looking good. Why are the eyes of the man in the white so black?? They look like coal.

I used black for them lol. would you recommend using blue or something? I'm still a newbie at figures so i thought black is good for this scale.

No, black is good enough. I mean that the black dot for the pupil is to large. You could try to line them off. Use a dark brown for the upper eye lid and a medium brown for the underline.
A small spot of some offwhite (lighter skincolor) left and right from the pupil helps also alot.
I know it is very difficult, but for me, the eyes are the trickest part of the figure painting.
