Cossack

I've always enjoyed the anachronism of Cossacks during WW2 , so I decided to be brave and do my first ever mounted figure. Started with Dragons excellent Don Cossacks re-shaped his torso slightly and added a modified Hornet head.
Comments and advice are always welcomed.

Finished the bulk of the remodeling today. Insignia and shoulder boards are from Abber.
Works on hold now till his horse arrives in the post

The horse looks a little funny, needs some more work to bring out the contours and shape. Also think the figure would fall of riding it like that

Taking the above advice on-board, I've fleshed the horse out a little.

I've decided to revisit this. I wasn't happy with his right arm,so I've made some changes .and feel I'm back on the right track.

I have the Osprey one and their Axis cavalry book, both a good read.
I've also found enough info and pictures to understand how the horse furniture goes together, Dragons instructions are so vague its not funny.
