To answer your question YES I have!
I'd go so far as to call for a new obituary to be posted in the paper announcing the death of Australian cricket.I should at this point resist the temptation of suggesting the names of some whose ashes should be included in the 120 odd year old trophy.
England have fielded a much better team.A team which behaves as a team and plays great cricket, good luck to them.

As I said to another gloating Pommy cricket fan earlier today (yes Mr Reid I'm talking about you!!), the fact that England has reclaimed the Ashes from Australia is good for the competition.

For those of you who don't know, The Ashes are the oldest sporting trophy in world sport and have been fiercely competed for by Australia and England since the 1870's.

It's been 27 years since England beat the Australian cricket team in an Ashes series in Australia, and during that time Australia has held The Ashes for 23 of those 27 years. Frankly, it was getting a little predictable and boring.

Losing The Ashes has breathed new life into the rivalry and given the Australian cricket team new reason to kick England's ass next time we meet.

Enjoy it while it lasts Roger, we'll be sending a few boys over to England to take those Ashes back in a couple of years.

Ah Ha, that would explain the resurgence of English cricket over the past 5 years.

Warnie simultaneously lowered the IQ and raised the sporting prowess of the next generation of England's cricketers since he lived there back in the 90's and rooted everything with a pulse. Shagadelic Baby!!

Good to see the boys in winning mood, I really felt that the Aussies would bounce back hard after giving us a drubbing in the last game and take the series...that 98 score was a real shock and a good toss to win.
I still wouldn't lay bets on the last game, complacency has been a feature of English cricket over the years.
In my opinion the difference in the teams over the past few years has been one man "Shane" an outstanding bowler who so often was the difference between equally matched sides, just look at his Test record. Other bowlers and batsmen have been good over the years in both sides but Shane has been the one to tip the balance.

Tony I thought the Calcutta Cup had a good 10 years on the Ashes
Cheers

Well done England. As much as it pains me to say so, you outplayed us and deserve to win The Ashes. Now shut up about it.

Well Tony this is my first week back at sea after a great Christmas leave and I need cheering up..... and that final comment did it, cheers. :)

I'll not mention it again until the next time..... and there'll be one :D

Your gloating Pommy mate,

Roger.

C'mon Tony, the way we played the local primary school could have beaten us. Time for a shake-up in Aussie cricket: get rid of Captain Pouting for starters, he's way past anything that resembled a prime. Don't you love the way he jumped ship for the last test and let poor Clarkie take the flak from the press for losing the Ashes? The rising star (for me at least) was Khawaja. Despite being a New South Welshman, I think we'll see good things from Usie. (y)

Mind you, my other team didn't do much better: S/Africa drew the series with India after looking set to dominate the tour. First time India's ever drawn a series in South Africa :(
