Freehand. I have to lengthen the letter "m", it will be visible from under the chin. I'll try to improve the texture of the material now, probably stippling again?
KaLeu.
Face and schirmmutze (white/gray/ushabti bone plus, of course N.O )
I think there's nothing to add here, at least for now. The white part of towel looks weird after stippling, I know, I will take care of this once the head is in its place.
You don't see much! But I am happy with the result.
First sketch of beard, brown ink. Looks too much red, but I have two aces in my sleeve, I mean - paint rack: agrax and nuln are their names :
Impressive paintwork to say the least..... I had one of those Venus fly traps many years ago. It used to piss me off because I like flies. Keep up the good work.
Very impressive. Those eyes really bring the figure to life, I'm sure the eyes of the KaLeu. will be equally impressive. I like the towel, I would leave the white as it is.
I think the Shirmmutze needs more white. Not overall, but more highlighting on the folds and the crown.
The beard has come out very well, I too love the Citadel washes... incidentally, I've started playing with their contrast paints, some good effects can be had with those.
Henk - thank you. As for the cap, I plan to paint all the details first. Then I'll see what needs to be improved. For now, I do not have the right point of reference.
The eyes... The problem with this bust is that, unlike the original, Hinrich's head is on the same level as KaLeu's. It should be lower and at a different angle. It also can affect the reception.
"Yup" means OK to my eye by the way I see the issue with the different levels of the heads/eyes in the clip, where the bust places them on the same level. I don't see it as a problem, as the bust is only a representation of the scene. KaLeu's eyes are placed well I think, looking sharply to the right. Schirmutze top would have been a detachable white cotton cover over the normal black hat crown, and I'd guess the KaLeu would have "one on and one in the wash".
It is an impressive piece - looking forward to seeing it completed.
