Hi, all!
Schirmutze top would have been a detachable white cotton cover over the normal black hat crown, and I'd guess the KaLeu would have "one on and one in the wash".
There were no covers at all. That is, they were, but rainproof, transparent and put on the entire cap, but it was very rare and probably during the war they immediately withdrew it. When it was raining heavily or there was a stormy weather, everyone who was at the kiosk put on rubber storm clothes - for them there were such "fisherman" hats with a big brim around.

Peter, Nap - thanks, guys.

Very first colors on details.

Peter, Nap - thank you, Masters!
I would put a wash over the metallics on the cap,

Casandora yellow is ok? Plus nuln oil in deepest areas.

Now that I noticed, it started to bother me:

In order to properly position both busts, a gentle KaLeu's hand surgery is required. Two fingers (the bent ones) would have to be remodeled, cut and pasted straight. What do you think? Should I take a risk?

In such company - always! :)

Go for it. It will always needle you otherwise. The fingers aren't especially prominent so any adjustments shouldn't be too obvious.

Phil

I concur with Phil. Only If only you know, it will still bother you. I have this with all my models. Others say 'oh, that's nice, very good', etc, but I know all the bits that I not completely happy with. If you can, change it. Look at the start of my "sail away" thread. Theres a big gap where the hat meets the hair. If I had not added the missing bit of hair, it would have bugged me...

I hesitate to say this, but I can't loose the feeling that there is something about the KaLeu's face, that's not quite right...? The eyes are outstanding, I think it's the highlight on the cheek... comparing with the movie still, it looks a bit to big? To pronounced? I think the beard line can also be a bit more 'ragged', comparing with the movie still.

If any of my observations are down to the lighting of the photos/ my screen, apologies.

Hi Marcin

Ref the badges , I would highlight the details a bit more but think the main colourlooks okay

As for fingers ..I agree with Phil and Henk ...do it , you've put so much into this yiu just woukd keep looking at it and wanting to change so do it now

Henk's comment ref highlights is a good point , I would just make it less prominant by blending it back more

Look forward to the next update

Happy benchtine

Thank you guys for all suggestions and comments. That really helps me to make a great piece!
I can always use the saw, but during the walk I had another idea.

All in all, there was no loss, only the last phalanx of the little finger came down together with the nail . File and some putty, and it'll be fine I think.

Now. Hinrich's eyes at the level of KaLeu's cheekbones:

Thank you again!

Thank you, guys!
Well. I think that's it.
I can't loose the feeling that there is something about the KaLeu's face, that's not quite right...?... I think it's the highlight on the cheek... comparing with the movie still, it looks a bit to big?

Indeed, it was too big. I put some Cadian flesh. I think it's better now?

Joined together. Now I am happy with the result. The only thing left to do was to refine the captain's fingers, wait calmly for the stand and the plate, paint all the little things, and, well, the gallery ...

Thank you guys. Without your comments, I wouldn't have been able to do it that well.

Hi Marcin

Great result once fingers are sorted , this has been a really good V Bench , lots of interaction and thoughts ...the result a fine version and accurate to the film itself
