Dragon 1/9 Feldgandarme acrylic

hi all!

spent a chunk of the last two days trying my first experiments with acrylics on a large scale figure....

it's still a little cartoony for my taste but tommorow i'm going to add the helmet, chinstrap and goggle marks and some road dirt.

cartoony, yep i see it a bit like that, but i have been holding it about 3 inches from my nose most of the time LOL

looking forward to the potentialty disasterous next stage, but thats why they invented Mr.Muscle hehehe

Great paintwork Mark especially on the eyes and beard.
I only find his forehead to smooth (or did he use botox ).
So maybe some little wrinkle marks.
Looking forward to the rest of the figure.

Mark, I think you're too hard on yourself. I'm with Nemanja, this looks like a great start to me. The eyes look particularly nice. As for the forehead, I can see Marcels point, however, the helmet should take care of that! Keep us posted.

Mark,
recognise the feeling when working on a figure so close, for so long.
try the sculptor trick of looking at figure via a mirror. Gives the brain a refreshed perspective, even if reversed.

This lets you check for missed spots, finish, etc.

Plus, it lets you see and appreciate it as much as we do!

despite the lager monster lightly savageing me last night i got lots done on the bike ( which was started by previous owner ( )) and a smidge more painting.

i think i will need another slightly lighter highlighter to just pop the folds out.

Coming along nicely!

He is progressing rather nicely.

Facial effects are subtle, particularly with the owl effects of dust & googles!

the rubberised suit is coming along too.
