Howdy all,

I've finished off another figure - a 54mm Celtic Warrior figure from Durendal. The base and tree trunk are resin and are included in the kit. The helmet, shield boss, scabbard, and spear points are the polished metal of the kit; everything else is Andrea and (some) Vallejo acrylics. The ground cover is forest litter from the creek across the street.

Cheers,

Glen

hi Glen,

This is a very nice vignette. I also use natural materials as much as possible for my groundwork. I've never painted a Durendal figure. What do you think?

Howdy all,

Paul/Al: This is the only Durendal figure I've painted. I thought it was well sculpted and cast - no short shots or flaws. Overall cleanup was typical of most kits I believe, at least, nothing struck me as being unusual... The base and tree trunk are resin, the figure and the tree branch are metal. As designed and depicted on the box photo, the hand is actually grasping the branch with the head turned away. I splayed the fingers and opened the hand, them moved the branch just beyond the figure's reach. I turned the head to look at the spot where the figure was trying to grab it. This is a far as I go when it comes to altering a figure ('conversion' is far too strong a word). I wouldn't hesitate to get another Durendal kit.

Cheers,

Glen
