Bob, glad ya got caught up buddy. As you can imagine it felt like I bit off more than I could chew. But hey, what's life without a challenge, a challenge that you enjoy?
Ok, been way too tardy for way too long, but I do have an update. When I finally get this "New" Harley finished I will rap up the Ranger figure and get started on the base. That will be a hoot and I'm looking forward to making it.
I did take these pics last night, but everything and it's brother was eating into my bunker time, even today.
Here's a few pics of the saddlebags and scabbard as well as some work I did on the seat in an attempt to make the stitching. That was a pain, but it'll have to do. You may also be able to see the reworked plumbing lines in there too. Detail Masters has some really good stuff.
Touch up base tone must be done before the weathering, chipping and rusting out some bolt areas, etc., but I'm almost where I was when the first Harley met it dastardly fate on the bunker floor in pieces. Much care and attention is being take this time around, HA! Thx for watching and fire away if there's something I may have missed.
As a staunch 54er I've never attempted to paint such large scale figures so I cannot comment on the techniques required.I know what I like though and I like what I see.I also have only good things to say for people who are fervent and commited and are willing to put in all the extra time and effort needed in order to achieve what they have in mind and you seem to fit right in that profile.
Thx for the kid words Oda. I can be a little anal retentive at times and Large Scale figures seem to tickle my fancy, they keep me in line and show my boofs immediately, so it's a constant learning process. Now that's where the fun it, IMHO. Lots to learn from the Bros here, which is why this site is my ultimately preferred figure painting university.
Thx Osebor, more to follow soon.
Guy, thx buddy for the encouragement, keeps the motivation up to full steam!
Ok Gents, I promise, back to the figures right after I stow Bette in the curio cabinet for a bit of a rest before I chip, rust, and weather her. The "Ranger" figure is on the bench now, just leggings and minor touch ups left on him, then base work. Pics to follow soon.
