I think the color came up really nice and your choice of hue is very accurate.
I love the "weathering" of the coat towards the edges look great.

Very nice work so far. I have this one started (just the face so far) and I have a couple of questions:

First, is this painted in oils or acrylics?

Second, if it's done in acrylics, how did you approach the black iron cuirass? It looks great, the base colour and the battle damage.

Look forward to seeing this piece completed. Following with interest!

Hi Colin,

It's done in acrylics. I only used oils on the leather belt and as a wash of raw umber.

you can search in the recent topics started by me the approach and the explanation of the look of the cuirass.
Nevertheless here it is the recipe: "As for Vallejo colours I tried a base of German Grey with a touch of Black and Oily Steel, shaded with Black and lightly drybrushed with Natural Steel on the "rub points"... edges around the arms and front of the bottom edge, where constant wear effectively polishes the edge."

The rub points where made with the Silver set from Andrea since I didn't have the Natural Steel.
