I enjoyed Enion and his advise but have got to say I have also just read and totally enjoyed this thread....You guys across the Pond just crack me up (even if I don't understand it all). I love the banter and dry wit!

Vive le Planet Figure and its inhabitants!

Pity that a thread that started with an innocent question about a valued member of the forum immediately degenerated into such a pathetic series of carping, innuendoes and completely irrelevant off topic rubbish.

I totally agree with Tommi and hope that the guy is OK and wish him well - his comments were always very well thought out and he went into considerable detail in his explanations. Clearly he knew his subject well and was happy to spend time in assisting other members.

One comment was shameful and I had thought better of the person who made it, I hope in time they might pause and reflect on the way it reflects on the forum.

Some of the carping and innuendo you are detecting Keith is present in this thread because although Einion was always keen to give his advice which was mostly helpful and constructive there was another aspect to Einoin's skilled assistance,...which was a total intolerance of and indeed disparagement of any other suggested advice from other members.

Understandably after repeatedly having their own contributions rubbished this caused some friction between Einion and some other members. If you were lucky enough not to have experienced this then you've obviously benefited from Einion's experience.......and indeed many members here have.

That's why you're detecting some negative responses Keith, just as you and others have had a good experience with Einion's contributions there are just as many who feel he believed other members contributions and advice to be inferior to his own and had no hesitation in saying so.

Wherever Einion may be now I hope he's well, and I wish him and all those close to him.... all the very best.

Mark....you probably hit the nail on the head ;...Still for us somewhat beginners,he helped me a great deal personally and will always appreciate his advice.Feel bad for the negative comments.Nobodys perfect and I hope all is well with Einion.........Wayne

I personally had one 'run in' with him....it was exactly as Mark said...at times he had a definite problem with people not accepting his opinion to be the 'correct' one....
Yes...I admit...it got a little heated...but not surprising...when he was lecturing a printer of over 40 years experience....on the make-up and use of printing inks in the trade...
From that I learned that going head to head with him was futile....
On the other side of the coin....I picked his brains a couple of times.....that's when he truly shone.....as long as you accepted he was in the right.....
We all have our ways......he was no different.....just bloody annoying at times :arghh::LOL:

"We all have our ways......he was no different.....just bloody annoying at times..." Aren't we all folks, aren't we all?

I mostly enjoyed Einion's posts and learned a lot. I didn't always take everything he said as gospel. So what?

Would it be disclosure of a closely guarded commercial secret or something to find out where Einion is posting now? Assuming anyone knows... I review posts on a number of sites but only post stuff on PF, GWF, the Military Horse Forum and a couple others. I kinda get the impression that most of us are like that. Not the same sites obviously. Large numbers of PF members will not jump ship to another site just because Einion may or may not have, so I don't think the commercial owners of this site will suffer.

All the best,
Dan

I think he is just MIA. No conspiracy. If you wish to set out on a search and detect him, feel free to post his whereabouts here. Unless if course he is in the Modelling Protection Program.

Einion has decided to leave ..his decision lets now draw a line underneath this

One person does not make PF!!

Hope I create as much interest when I leave ....this world...not PF!!

I'll always remember the nickname he was given by us, as his actual name was Einion Rees we called him "Onion Rings".
He was a real character down at Euro, and i wish him all the best.
