I will say that since starting this thread it is interesting to see some reactions - we all have opinions and we are all entitled to them. I was not happy with last years and only marginally happier this year but I do feel the show is overpriced. Or not good value for money - however you look at it.

I think the organisers need to re invent the show - I feel that the venue is stale. I personally think an alternative would not be hard to find and re kick start the show. The talent would come along wherever Euro is situated. If the tables were cheaper the traders would still support in large fashion - this year the traders while great seeing favourites were not in abundance. As a modeller of other subjects at Telford I am spoilt for choice - at Euro I had a couple of pre orders set by but that was it.

- no Germans involved:)

Haven't seen those guys in Folkestone for the last two Euros.

Every year a couple of them used to pitch up and park their (presumably repro but very good) SdKfz. 222 armoured car on the grass outside before hitting the show looking very much the part in full Waffen SS uniform and all the trimmings. Last time I saw them the effect was quite jarring when one of them came to the SK stand, picked up a 1/35 figure set, waved it at me and enquired in a strong 'Cockney geezer' accent " 'ere mate, ar' much are these then?"

actually I wasn't goping to attend this year except a friend wanted to go - it's been 25 years since his last visit! - He wasn't impressed this year.

And I had stuff to collect for trade purposes - To be honest all that I picked up personally I could have got via the net.

Don't think me hypocritical - Last year was poor because of the Italian Nationals and the lack of input - I expected this year to be better - in my opinion it wasn't Euro is on a sliding scale downwards.

Hi guys ,

Well like others I will be there next year supporting the show in whatever way possible ...it's all we have in the South , yes it needs tweaking a bit but hey life is too short !! .....

Let's enjoy it ....been looking through old MM Euro specials going back many years so many memories , so many great models

Organising Bugle Call heavan knows it's a thankless task doing a show ..very difficult to get support at times so I feel for the Euro organising team ...and those judges.

I believe Euro this year deceived the viewer to an extent. Quality and quantity of figurines in all forms, including vignettes, dioramas and "sci-fi" was very high not to speak of flats. At the same time many armor modelers and vehicle diorama masters had stayed home. As a consequence tables in the competition room looked empty compared to some previous years while in reality Euro 2015 set a new record in number of participating entries.

Merchants who were at the show were mainly targeting figurine modelers. In the "good old days" many manufacturers brought their new releases into Euro, which meant that almost anyone visiting the show could buy some kit/resin set/etc. that was not yet available in the market. Nowadays internet has pulled the rag under this concept and only a couple of manufacturers release some of their new products at Euro. There was not much to buy for armor modelers in Folkestone this year. Don't know if this is going to be different next time but if not it will probably have an impact. Perhaps Euro is heading back to it's origins as a figurine show and the armor modelers go to Trucks&Tracks or in some other show? Or perhaps it was just temporary.

Is it the anti climax that the show is over for another year. Before the show everybody gets excited, bring cake, see you their ect.

When the show is over it's nothing but moans and criticism.

Me for my part enjoyed the whole weekend (except the guy on the mic)

I don't win prizes or awards but I got everything I wanted including meeting friend, food & some drink. Enjoy the weekend and yes I have already booked my second rate hotel and cannot wait for Euro 2016.

You can't buy atmosphere, and meeting like minded people from all parts of the planet, and sharing your passion for your hobby, anywhere else in the U.K.
I think you go to Euro for different reasons than i, and many others do Adrian.

I go to Euro to meet with friends see talent on show but primarily to buy - I like to get things immediately - I don't like always using the internet and I like the little quirky things you find on a dealers table - but I was disappointed last year and this year was marginally better - but I was charged £10 for the privalige as well as travelling under false hope. So I will pass next year and buy from my favourite dealers from the web or at the other shows that are in my opinion better value for money...as I say we all have our opinions....

....there certainly has grown a defensive attitude here - great you are all allowed to champion your causes - I wonder though - should another such show start up and promote the same ideas and turn out to be better I wonder if you all who are defending Euro change your opinions - I know we all have loyalties...I used to go to Gravesham - because I don't get much out of it I use my time with my family - same for Lancing and some other regional shows - I love my hobby and have visited many shows and venues - there are a handful throughout the year I wouldn't miss - Milton Keynes, Telford and Hornchurch...I absolutely loved Figure World - but the last time I went the traders had lessened and so had the show entries - it is a lot of time and petrol for me to attend - Hornchurch, MK and Telford are ever expanding - and keeping the prices down.

I have attended Euro a few times now and because the show is on the wain and still charging £10 entry (less club stands, less traders, less talent), there are some who still expound the greatness of Euro - I disagree - you do not have to agree with me - but I still maintain that the entry charge is way too high for what is on offer at Euro. The facilities are plush yet antiquated and the hall is full with at least four traders selling more than just figures - models etc. So as for Euro being solley figures that is a not so...and thats because armour and vehicles mix with figures - the same can happen elsewhere.

Yes it's still going on....freedom of speech and all that - we make models of men who died to allow us the right to freedom of speech!

Play nicely children .......

I will be at Euro with RP models , so that is something to look forward to for everyone , we are already planning the weekend ...lots going on ...and guess what we will not be selling as our customers will be able to buy from traders who carry the range ie: SK, Historex etc ...

Watch PF for updates ...

Euro...the atmosphere, like minded folk , great friendships and a great weekend is assured

That has got to be one of the most crass comments I've seen on this forum.
Comparing selfless sacrifice of others to a very very very trivial and now boring debate on a worn out issue ...... disgraceful.

Then you have it in your power to refrain from boredom and not read the thread...like a Meerkat Simple!

I hate to be blunt here, but if you don't like Euro.
Do us a favour and don't go.
Those of us who like it, will continue to meet up and go. ( and have a great time)
By the way the entries were up by a third year against the previous year.
So please stop prattling on about it.
