Thanks Jimmy, very moving, I was on Chinooks at the time and most of my mates went for a paddle off the Atlantic Conveyor. Working on the head as a break from the Camo.

Hi Tony, a friend of mine who lives down south was only talking to me yesterday about Bravo November and how they ditched the door, were you on that one,,,,

No had worked on it though, knew the late Dick Langworthy the Captain, had been on a few trips abroad with him on Pumas, the other pilot rings a bell to, you know there is a new series on in march about the war when they interview some of the crew and engineers. The door was jettisoned if I remember right when it hit the sea, the heating packed up and they lost a lot of comms aerials, it was a wreck when it got back to Odious.

Hi Tony, as my friend remembers the incident at Estancia,
"they came down off the mountian at home (Estancia House) one night and hit the water, thought they were going to lose her, so they ditched the door, they managed to keep going somehow and had to fly for the rest of the war without a door, later they took one off an Argie heli for her after the surrender, Dad and I found the door in the creek about '87/88"
I only ever flew in one once, after the Falklands, I always felt safe in choppers, and liked the Lynx, ahh, happy days,,,
bye for now Jimmy

Cool, that's what I was told happened too, have done a lot of hours in chinooks, indeed Helicopters, was lucky, I flew in everything I worked on in the RAF ( and landed in... Something you didn't  ) even fighters.. :D

OK update time, have been working on the head as a break from the camo and also his SLR shown resting on the base, the SLR still needs a little lightening to the wood as per the photo you put up, it would bleach out a bit with getting wet etc...

Top images make the head look a bit bright the way i illuminated them, so redone the images to show the head

Hi, it is a fantastic figure, but the one thing is the Beret does not seem quite right, we tend to wear our beret flatter to the head,

Tony cracking job on the figure, DPM looks great as does the SLR, nice to see mix of plastic and wood.

I have to agree with Jimmy, the beret just isnt `Ally` enough for Para Reg, not even a crow fresh up from Depot would have worn their beret this way, first thing into battalion was reshaping your beret to look more like a flat cap. It would make a big improvement to add some putty to drop the crease down over the leather band, I know you have painted the beret now but this would be the icing on the cake. It was hard work earning that beret so one thing you wanted is for it to look good.

I have edited your image to show what I mean.

All the best

Steve

Hi Tony, not that I could do it, your the man with the skill, I would just take some of the height off the beret,

Great job Tony, the uniform really pulls you into the photo. I Can't wait for the next installment of progress.

I want to thank you and Jimmy for the inspiration. The video link from jimmy was awesome there were so many figure possibilities in that montage. Now I will be buying some figures from this subject.

Ok... following on from the comments, the front of the beret has been remodelled and the overall height dropped a bit, how does this look now?..

Hi Tony, I dont think you needed to add to the front of the beret just take the height down a bit, the face is great,

I am sorry but I dont think so, you have done a fantastic job, but the blob on the front does not look good, sorry..
