Hello Gents
As I'm a novice in this hobby, I haven't been able to
attend figure shows. I did attend a few local shows,
but they feature mostly painted figures and toys.
In 2005, I would like to attend figure shows where
I can meet famous artists and see their work in person.

Which figure shows do you guys recommend???

Taesung

Try MFCA in PA in May (OK i didn't mean to ryhme) and Atlanta in Feb. Those would be the closest to you

Taesung,

Just my 2 cents, if you are going to go to any show next year and you want to see great work, go to the World Expo in Boston. ;)

Joe

Hey guys - don't forget World Expo 2005 in Boston. The Expo is July 1-7 (figure exhibition 1-3 July). It will be the largest Miniature Figure Exhibition ever staged in North America, with the best miniature figure artists from the US, Canada, Italy, France, Spain, Britain and countries all over the globe. The Hotel wher the show will be held, The Boston Park Plaza has already booked over 1,300 room nights for the show.

Seminars will be given by Mike Blank, Shep Paine, Don Troiani (historical art), Mario Fuentes, David Lane, Cookie Sewell (armor), and yours truly.

Visit the World Expo website at www.boston2005.com.

World Expo 2005 should not be missed!!!!!

Would you guys Please move some of these darn shows to the Left Coast?

Keith

There IS a "left" coast show - SCAHMS in March 2005 in Orange, California. Excellent show with some of the best modelers in the US attending!!!

Bill

Bill -

Thanks. I missed SCAHMS past two years because of biz travel.

Hello gents
Thank you for the information!
I'll make sure to go to World Expo in Boston
and MFCA in PA. I'm also planning to go to
EuroMilitaire this year. :)

BTW, are there any figure shows in LA area?
I often visit my family in Los Angeles, and it
would be nice to schedule it so I can attend
a show. Thanks again!

Taesung

Every year I have a blast at the SCAHMS, Atlanta (not a word, Big K!), and Chicago shows simply because of the people. You'll meet the best painters & sculptors at these events, as well as other shows such as MFCA and Long Island. Did I forget to mention Tulsa? Boy, they can put on a fun show too!

I guess it's not a question of the actual "show" per se, but the people who frequent them. Although you are likely to see the same faces at all of these, they are what make the whole show experience a memorable one.

Ah, I knew there would be at least one show
I should attend to in LA. :) Thanks!

Taesung

Taesung,
Definitely come out to SCAHMS. Lots to do, see, and buy at the show. Besides, the Giant Rat park (aka "Disneyland") is just a couple miles away ;)

Well, there is a show in Montreal, Canada. It's a small show, notably because there is very little publicity done by it's administrators. I, for one, would like to see it grow. It's held at the fort of St Helen's island, in the Stewart Museum, near Montreal.

The Museum contains a high quantity of historical items, namely articles related to the colonies. You'll find an original scottish shield, claymore, a crossbow, an arquebuse and a number of original paintings such as François 1st. Entry fee to the museum is included in the show's entry fee.

If anybody is interested in more info, I'll get it for you. I know for now that the AMFQ show is held on or around the 20th of february 2005. More info to come if there is any interest.

Francis

Would you share a bit with the newbie about SCAHMS? (like what does it stand for?) I live in the L.A. area & would love to go to this event (it would be a first for me actually). Does the promoter have a website where I could get more info?
Thanks,

Hey Taesung, you just missed a good one in Long Island on the 20th. World famous figgie painters and sculpters. I would try get to the World Expo show in Boston. I already got my reservations and am looking forward to going. The Valley Forge show is another good one from what I've heard so I'm gonna check out that one to. Dano. ;)

Mindy,
Dude, I would pay real money to see some of those poems published somewhere (online perhaps?). ;)
