Really like it
If you wanted to you could run a graphite pencil around some of the edges of his shoulder armour just to add a bit of sheen here and there
Also you could add 1 deeper shadow colour and one more highlight colour to the fur just to bring it out a bit more
This is just a suggestion but when I looked at the cuts in the head maybe a bit of Tamiya transparent red in some places
These are just suggestions I really like the figure and what you have done
Well done!

I had a lot of fun with this piece a while back......nice job (y)
You could increase the contrast levels slightly on the chest and stomach armour with some washes.....and I would suggest the 'verdigris' is too blue.....pic shows a more realistic shade...
Great piece for your first bust though :)

thanks for the feedback, the fur is really a pain in the but!
My wife suggest a bit of blood splatter on the shoulder pads and some dirt as well.

for the verdigris i am using turqoise from vallejo as well as the verdigris glaze, it came out much bluer in the pics than it looks like in the pics. I will see if i can tweak the tones a bit.
I will try the graphite on the pads, your right it needs a bit of shine.

thanks for the feedback! I am eager to improve and will be posting updates soon! Thanks!

Here is a link to the one I did.....http://www.planetfigure.com/threads/im-back-scale-75-abyssal-warlord.63999/

As for effects such as rust and verdigris....you can't get better than these....http://www.modelmates.co.uk

Hope this helps :)

very impressive! Ive never been able to get that fine of controll over my airbrush. I cant get a smooth transition, maybe my paint is too thick? More practice needed :)
the modelmates stuff isnt available across the pond in the us, looking at the figure in hand the verdigris i am using may be a tad blueish but its not as blue as in the pics. ill try to add a touch of green t it and see if i can balance it out.]
thanks!

This is your first bust? Wow, I'm seriously impressed. With work like that you are going to be one to watch. I agree with the above comments, the graphite pencil comment is a great idea. I especially like the rusty shoulderpads. Good effort and look forward to seeing more of your work. My only criticism is that you need to add more dark shadows into the little nooks and crannies, around the chain and into the fur. I would use a dark oil wash if it was me, but it is a small point only.

Thankyou for the kind words! Here is the finished piece, I did some more work on it but have decided to call it finished and move on to new things ( i could spend forever on it )
sorry for the bad pictures, i need to get better at photographing my work :)

I ended up taking first place in my category at the Lake Charles IPMS show, ill take it to san antonio on the 20th.

I used acrylics, mostly scale 75 with some vallejo and andrea paints. As far as techniques go i dont know, Im to new to know what i am doing :p
I had a lot of help and advice form my local painter friends, thats the biggest help IMO.
