Guy and Gary,

Thanks very much. This is one of my first major works on a face and I appreciate the comments. I have a question to ask of you, do you think the sash tassels that are his lower body need some work? I am not sure and any suggestions are welcomed.

Joe

Joe, it looks like you used Duro to change the face. Did you have any trouble or use any special technique to get it to blend?

It looks great. You're really tearing through this.

John,

Thanks. I did use the duro and nothing special. I just used a toothpick to push the edges down and a wet paintbrush to smooth it out. I hope to have more done but I received a computer game for Christmas and it has slowed me down a bit!

Hi Joe
He sure looks good, really like the facial alterations
Duro in my opinion is the best for this work especialy in the smaller scales.

John
I use odourless paint thinner to feather the Duro into the surrounding areas

Frank,

Thanks. I am starting to get the hang of the duro and I really like it so far. I have never tried the paint thinner. Does it soften the duro so you can blend/feather it?

Joe

Joe, You could add a bit more to the tassels on the sash , but it's really not a big deal if you don't.

Your progress has been slowed down by a computer game you got for Christmas? Which one? The reason I'm asking is there are a few that can be played online and these sometimes cause the work to slow down for me.~Gary

LOL, Gary, same here! Day of Defeat has put a dent into my benchtime :( - I finally uninstalled it to resist the urge

(sorry for the thread derail Joe )

Gordy, Though I thought I'd never consider sculpting a WW2 figure (always thought the Germans looked cool), Movies like Saving Private Ryan, Band of brothers, Enemy at the gates, etc and now these multi-player online games have really opened me up wanting to do some. I know that German subjects have been done to death. All I can do is agree, but they have not been done to death by me ...yet.~Gary
