Not only a nicely executed and very nicely posed figure, but I enjoyed the pix and account (in my limping French) of your club's activities. One of yr philosophical debates particularly interested me because it demonstrates the the differences and similarities between French and English speakers. In English, despite the attempts of Andrea's translators, there is no such word as "zenithial", but we do, thank the Lord, have "genital". :D

At the risk of "sounding mean" I have to say that the horse in no way resembles a dappled gray. The dapples are too uniform and too "mechanically" placed. I admire the piece a lot but this is a detractor. Very reminiscent of the Historex work done in the past, which is good. Thanks for sharing.--

I feel the same way as Steve...my eyes went directly to the dapples on the front of the horse. Too regular in size and too well defined edges.
There was an article years ago, by Andre Koribanics, "How to Paint a Dapple Grey" ....what I do remember from it was that one of his main points was how much time and care he suggested spent on blending and blurring the edges of each dapple into the base horse color. So when it's complete, you really can't tell where the dapple begins or ends...but they are there...
Otherwise, I think this is a gorgeous, well done piece and beautifully painted.
Top-notch presentation, too.
