Roger - In your photo the 54mm figure looks about 65mm tall. Very elongated looking and it's also a little out of focus. I don't intend to be overly critical and from what I can see, that's an excellent weathered horizon blue, the equipment colors look great.
Did you see my post elsewhere? Give me an e-mail, OK?
Roger - the second photos are MUCH better, but I also agree with Roc - I'd like to see some close-ups. You have a real knack for weathering clothing and equipment!
Thank you for the comments. Problem is I don't have a camera. I will have a chat with a friend and see if he'll take some shots for me. He's easily persuaded with a couple of beers.
Thank you Gary, there's something about WW1 figures that I get a real feel for. When I painted Napoleonics they always seemed to lack something and ended up looking too Parade ground/ toy soldierish. Does that make sense?
What - is the sun shining in England? Is this one of the ten days this year!!!??? Just jealous, I guess, it crept out of the clouds very briefly today in Omaha!
Hmmmm Horizon Bleu table and perhaps the fence too, good idea Gary.
Cheers Dan, you won't be suprised to hear it is now raining here in North Yorkshire
Thank you Marc. From some of the first hand accounts from the Great War I've read if you painted a figure covered in mud from head to toe it would be pretty accurate.
