For something different I thought I would do the Rancor model from Star Wars, starting with the Gamorrean Guard. He is about 130mm and has just been primed.
May the force be with you. I have this model and had a lot of fun painting
it. As you know it comes in the same box with that huge model of the
Rancor figure.
Hi ya Paul,
Very nice kit this one, one I have and would like to do in the near future, the detail on it is awesome. Cant wait to see how you tackle it.
Ben
The main base colours are down just will tweak the colours and do highs, lows and washes. The teeth and horns will be different colours and will add weathering to leather and armour.
Hello again
The Rancor is built but gaps needing to be filled. Parts around the legs and arms don't fit to well but will come up okay after a bit of putty. This puts the little fellow into context a little better. Run Forrest runnnnnnnn. I still need to finish off the black/leather parts on the gaurd
Basic skin tone done but lots more to do . Just starting on the mouth and mucking around with eye colours.........the eyes won't look like this. Not sure what colour I will paint the nails yet.
Hi
Not a great pic but a quick pic of an update shot of me just starting on the base before I finish of the two subjects off with smaller detailing/weathering.
Hi Paul, looking really good, are you putting this one into QMHE this year, only a few weeks to go!!!!!!
Just ne other thing, where did you get the skeleton/bones for the base, they look great
Ben
Hi Ben
Hope your going well. Yes mate this will be in the show this weekend
Some of the bones are from Verlinden 120mm set and some are from a animal kit that shows you the inside of it as well, so some parts are clear to show you the internal organs. If you want the name of kit let me know and I will have a look for you.
Face is pretty much done now ( not pretty really)
Just finishing off the base and finer details and will post more pics
Yes! Pretty nice and ugly so far, mate! (much more ugly than our new smileys, here! )
I love the saliva effects in the face. Pretty disgusting! Just like it's meant to look!
I once painted that huge baby, too. As a present for a very good friend! Looks like you are having the same fun with it, I had. You are doing well, so far!
Nice one Paul, and best of luck for the expo, wish I was there. Love the face, I have this one as well but haven't started it as of yet. After seeing yours, I wouldn't mind getting onto it.
Ben
