full body-

I wanted to sculpt the bottom half first to give me some time to position the upper body connecting to figure #1

What did you have to change, the shoulder and arm?
Thanks John! All I did was add a little putty to the upper part of the shoulder (basically filled in a fold/crease I had there) and shaved a little off the underside of arm.

I must have spent two hours trying to figure out how I was going to build the arms. I knew the key was getting the hands positioned right on figure # 1 so I decided to glue them to the fleshed out armature then sculpt around them. The tough part now is to figure out how I'm going to sculpt the left arm of figure #2

btw-the head is pinned to the shoulder and 5 min. epoxy'ed into place.

Well, sculpting the left arm of fig #2 wasn't as tough as I thought. Since there was some room between the two figures, I had little trouble in applying putty.

I first glued the pre-fitted armature in place and started adding putty. I could not use any "rolling pin" motion for pushing, so I used a flat toothpick to smooth the putty. It took a little more time but worked out well.

Mornin' Guy! Yes, I have three of them. They work great on projects like this. I used to hold my figures in these but gets a little awkward to handle, however it was essential for this project.

Thanks

Jason,My friend that is looking fantastic. You've managed to pull of the hardest part, interaction between figures.~Gary

Thanks Gordy and Gary!

Latley I've been picking subjects that will help me overcome sculpting phobias-flowing garmets, joined figures etc,. I think this project has helped me with this "fear"

Thanks Anders and Robin

Here's the last pic. Just need to build the sword and groundwork.

Can't wait to get painting! But....
