Hi guys,
My Super Sculpey Firm (Grey) arrived today, and as promised, I've immediately started work on my new bust of General Sir John Monash, in a smaller scale.
I've used a wire armature for the shoulders, and had my first attempt at baking Sculpey in the oven tonight. I've measured up the head and face area and carved some lines into it to help me locate the correct positions for the eyes and other facial features.
I've also included a pic of my new bust sitting next to my first aborted attempt, to give you some idea of the difference in size and also to give you a sense of how far I have to go yet.
Now that I have my Sculpey, nothing's going to stop me now. This stuff is great. It has the same sculpting properties as Magic Sculp, without the painful side-effects.
I'm concentrating on building up the volumes first and ensuring the proportions are correct, before I tackle any details.
