Brilliant work Colin...good to see the little chap with you ..not sure about the blank look though!!!!

Really looking forward to seeing the paint appear and to seeing the next bust thread come along ....again I will say ....

Amazing work wonderful details

Thanks for sharing

Nap

Ps Reckon I might move to Canada with you guys !!!!

Thanks Nap. If you move to Canada to hang with us you probably want south western Ontario in the Toronto area....it's a big place :) But I wouldn't envy you paying shipping on your bust collection!

Colin

Are you truely thinking of moving to the Great White North? That would be cool! I'm with Colin, come to Toronto and join in with our small but merry band of painters/sculptors.
The one thing you will miss is the fact we are truely bereft of figure shows... a sad state of affairs indeed :(

Finally got to my paints - yippee!

Base coated and eyes mostly done. He has lost a couple of decorations on his collar - need to replace them.

Good heavens above! ... I am not sure how I missed this! :( .......... Colin, I am in awe!! a fantastic sculpt, coupled with fantastic painting. Brilliant work!

High Regards,

Right sleeve. I tried Paul's NMM ideas and modified some. Base burnt number; first highlight 50:50 base and Vallejo (V) Elf Skintone; 2nd highlight Elf Skintone; light wash Quinn Burnt Orange; 3rd highlight V Dead Flesh; last highlight Liquitex pro titanium white. I will be lightly inking all the gold lace with liquitex gold ink (diluted) after the model is dull coated upon completion.

The jacket is: base V Cavalry Brown; highlighted by mixing in V Light Orange; high highlights pure orange. Shaded with black. Upon completion the dolman was washed with Liquitex Napthol Crimson to bring the colour back more towards a red shade.

Liking the red... interesting approach to get to the final red tone.
The embroidery looks fantastic... great NMM mix, really jumps off the red background.

Colin

Nice work Colin , like the way the red is looking ...NMM looks really effective ..starting to jump out at the viewer

Looking forward to seeing more

Nap
