IT could easily be another Roman,Greek,Gaul;) french Nap ,Indian and so on.
I don't think anyone was really knocking it, a great sculpt ,and yes the faces do look alike a bit , but each sculptor has his own style that shows thru in there
work as does the top painters style show, I can spot a Carl Reid sculpt at 100 paces ,a Matt Greoch ,Yuri , all great stuff ! the hobby has never had it so good
especially with straight out the box painting in some cases ,Three cheers for the Sculptors(y)

I do agree that it is a bib repetitious but there is plenty of variety for all ,I am sure the world war two guys find Too many Vikings Especially with horns
boring or romans with Eagles , but me I just happy to be on the right side of the grass :)

I find it astonishing that sculpting of this unbeliveably breathtaking quality can still be so casually dismissed as ordinary, or boring, or samey or repetitious, these days.
It was only years ago we had decidedly doll like figures to thrill us all....Jesus! what do you want!.....I look forward to seeing your own much more superior sculpted works on these same pages soon.

Not all the german WWII stuff is necessarily boring:ROFLMAO:

It is rather interesting to see WW2 German modelers do not complain
about another US cavalry, roman, nappy, pirate, viking, etc., and yet
non-WW2 German modelers gang up on German subject without a fail.
Why bother with what's going on on the other side of the fence?
This practice is just as boring and old.

BTW, these are the same people who complain even if the subject is
of their own interest... picking on facial expression, pose, small details,
and even box-art even though the figure comes un-painted.

Although I do understand what people say about the similar appearance
of Young's face sculpting, it is important to keep the comments constructive
and encouraging.

Let's make one thing clear.
Putting down German release will NOT force Young to make other subjects.

Young has released many interesting non-german stuff in the past. Why do
you think he comes back to German busts? Because comments like, "Oh... how interesting"
does not translate into sales.

....and - up to now - 21 German-WWII-busts, if I counted correctly . And a DAK-bust (YM1802) is already among them. :ROFLMAO:

All very well done, no question.(y)

But only a repetition of the same theme.:yuck:
Sorry, but I stand by my opinion!

Cheers

Mmmh...Martin since you've decapitated a young's bust of one of your favourite periods, I do not even dare to imagine what would you do if one of those WW2 germans fell into your hands!!:nailbiting::nailbiting:
(just kidding..Many of us are following your zaporozhian adventure with great pleasure(y))

If Young need to release constantly good sellers, to allow them to try the more unusual subject matter then so be it.
For me this is well up to the standard we've come to expect,
Carl.(y)

The opinion that these releases are repetitive is exactly that: an OPINION. The quality of Young busts is undeniable, and I dont think anyone has said the bust is poorly sculpted. For those who dig WWII German stuff and cant get enought of it, these releases are exciting. Wether or not someone expressing their opinion here can sculpt a better bust themselves is completely irrelevant. It does not make their opinion any less valid, or limit their right to express it.

Hi!

No problem if some busts (faces) are alike, what I see here is another pretty nazi, and I love those nazi soldiers - I dont know why?... but the theme encourages me a lot to paint.
The 3º reich even having been a disgusting regime that committed some of the worst atrocities on defenseless people, his corruption with a policy of shit, were without any doubt an army with beautiful uniforms and with a magnificent technology for his time.
Political speaking, I´m at the other side of the river, if you understand.;)

What I find amusing/disturbing is how figures of Nazi soldiers are frequently depicted in the same way as how the Nazi propagandists portrayed themselves. Arno Breker ( Nazi Germany's most well know sculptor) work exemplified the way the nazis wanted to be perceived. His work and that of other Nazi sculptors depicted the "aryan" as " strong yet restrained, brutal yet pure, nude yet decent, virile but highly civilized". All qualities evoked in many of the sculpts of Nazi figures seen today, when, in reality the Nazis were anything but. Like the soldiers depicted in nazi art, most nazi figures produced today are poised heroically for battle, holding their wounded comrades, nobly and defiantly defending "the Reich" against overwhelming odds, having perfect facial symmetry, chiseled facial features, strong jaw bones, striaght noses, and full lips. As with Breker's male figures, these figures are easily readable as gay superheroes. Makes you wonder about the attraction people have to these figures. Is it just the camo? Would there be the same attraction if they were sculpted in more natural poses and with more natural features?
Just a thought.

is it not laughable
sculpt an englishman or american with horns on the steel helmet and you get praise
do an nice german and again you will get this silly comments
ohhhhhhhh no not again an german ect
well why do they sell better than other stuff
simply because they where the BEST AND SMARTEST SOLDIERS OF THEIR TIME and this shows even in resin or plastic
