In the "for what it's worth" category, there were several types of Tornister or Haversack used in 1914. Attached is an example of an officer's model 1900.

Could we see a close-up of the epaulettes and head please?

I was considering to put this model of Tornister on him. I read that in 1914 they began to make more sturdy backpack for officers, as this model was a bit flimsy.
I will look for a pic of the head and epaulettes, as the figure itself is right now inside the silicone. :)
