Looking great Carl, I have trouble with the flat surfaces like the webbing too. I just try make it look a bit more interesting by trying to make it look used a little with stains.
I'm looking forward to the next update.

Carl, somehow I missed this one, glad I found it now as it is an inspiration for a project I am about to begin.

Carl, with the webbing go quite a lot darker on the lowest part of each strap/webbing and fade up the figure. It will give the figure and sense of depth you're after.
