Not missing nothing but for interest this is what one looks like (1st is obviously its a repro)

Can you imagine the horror of wearing one of these .

That is really coming to life, looks great, keep up the good work it's paying off. The face reminds me a bit of Nicolai Lescovar from the film Force 10 From Navarone.

Thanks for your kind comments guys. They are really appreciated. Richie, I agree, it does look like Nicolai. The latest photo shows the brass buttons and capbadge painted and I have made 4 little poppies which I have attached to each top corner of the base.

This is the latest WIP shot. I have painted the webbing. Still have to do some detailing when the oils are dry. Then I shall be starting work on the rifle. I hope you like him. Please feel free to comment.

I think the rifle sling should be canvas, but leather was used too.

Thanks for the comments guys. Carl. I agree about the canvas strap but I checked by putting WW1 rifle sling into the internet image section and like you say quite a few leather slings are shown. Due to this and also to give some balance to the bust I decided to have a leather sling. Too much canvas and cotton can be boring I think.
