Now, before I start, this isn't meant as a snarl against the concept of eating sensibly. It's more observational, and a comment on how things have changed.
Not always, necessarily, for the better in every respect.
Tonight's dinner was going to be "toad in the hole", so I set about making it as shown by my mum and my (Irish) grandmother: sausages into the oven on the large tray (ceramic dish, here) the ensemble will cook in.
While they cooked, for 20 minutes, and got nice and hot, with their fat leaching onto the dish (I pricked them first to allow this), I prepped the vegetables and made the batter.
It was time to retrieve the sausages, so out they came, ready for the batter to be poured on.
No oil in the dish.
WTF??
They were basically devoid of fat.
So, "TITH" cannot be cooked as I've done it for years, because someone sabotaged the sausages. I'll never trust them again.

I like big...
Chips, and I cannot lie
And mushy peas make me high
On a plate or a dish
With a nice bit of fish
Or a steak n' kidney pie
I like to get chunkyyyy

Any sandwich eaten on a full day's hike (today, in the North York Moors National Park) tastes like paradise.
