I didn't expect to make any more trench sections but got tempted by this. Heath Robinson's amazingly bizarre Pilsner Pump for sapping the enemy's supper beer! It requires a total scratch-build of course. The figures will be about 30mm tall. The soil is still work in progress. This is just a basecoat with an initial wash on it.
Very 'English' humour, made to raise moral and make fun of the Germans.

Great idea! But it will be difficult to convey the style of the characters in 30 mm.

I like the way this is going, full of moral boosting humour. Great idea and looking forward to seeing more.
Love the figures you have painted so far.

Just to make things straight. I’ll be sculpting bespoke figures for this. Those figures are on a previous model and staying there. It would require so much chopping around to make metal war gaming figures that I may as well just try and do it myself. I’ve done a fare bit of sculpting and confident that I can do this. We’ll see?
Thanks for your support guys! I’m continuing to work on all that soil and will post more photos soon.

I’ve been developing the soil and still working on it. Soil looks best if there are many tones within it and not just a blanket colour with shading.
The wooden bits are still loose and will be painted of course.

Being a ‘trench expert’ it really bothers me that the trenches are above ground and have no revetments! Of course they did build ‘breastwork trenches’ in areas that flooded, but they always had revetment support. I may get tempted to add a little corrugated iron and wickerwork.
