Cheers Malc, yes a little I will but I don't want him sat snuggly in place given that the horse is galloping.Taking shape nicely.
Are you going to thicken up the thighs slightly so they fit snugly against the saddle?
Malc
Cheers Neil I want to try and make it as individual as possible. This is good to see Simon, bring it on. Love the ambitious detailing on the cuirass and helmet
Cheers Neil, I'm posting this on the Historex small builds group of FB as well, seems I spend nearly as much time taking photos and writing about it as I do modelling!Looking great Simon!
Yes it was the Big 'un, before he went all arty farty! How much trouble am I in for that?It looks smashing.
"Windswept and interesting ", that was Billy Connolly I think?
LOL, Friday the worst day of the week as opposed to Monday being the best day of the week!Happy Friday
Hi Malkie, there is no competing intended, it's all about enjoying the build and painting. It is learning with each project and putting that knowledge to use in the next. We can all learn from each other no matter our standard and appreciate the work of others again with no regard to standard. There will always be better modellers than oneself but for me at least and I suspect many other members of PF, it is the modelling and painting and the joy we get from that, that is the important factor. So just go for it I would love to see your work on here.Historex modelling at its finest, I can only hope that the projects I have in mind will be of a reasonable standard. I think that Simon and others have set the bar too high for me to compete.
Malkie you are more than welcome and it's great to have another Historex buff in this merry band of brothers and sisters. Look back at my back catalogue of projects, the improvement is down to what I have learnt on here and I was encouraged all the way. The good thing about PF is there is no elitism, membership ranges from the absolute beginner to world class modellers and every model made and displayed is a victory for the hobby. My heartfelt thanks to Simon Briggs and Canterbury Coxswain for their words of encouragement. It is a good many years since I attempted an Historex kit, but I have it in mind to attempt to build some of the lesser known units of the 1790,s a period in which I have developed something of an interest. I hope that in the coming year I may have at least some work in progress pics to show.
With thanks
Malkie
