Re: Heinz Guderian Bust

Very nice start Mark, nice painting on the skin tones as always, what is your colour pallet for this also you mention on tonning down the lower part of the face, how will you do this:D

Re: Heinz Guderian Bust

Well I'm amazed by the response to this post! I was a little worse for wear when I posted this hence the shortness of the post :)

There's not been much progress apart from some tweaks on the face and blocking in the colours on the hat. The band has had a very subtle bit of texture added, the field grey parts have the shade down and need highlighting...

A picture after a marathon of replies! If I miss anyone ... Sorry!!

Lionel ... Thanks! I use Vallejo and Games Workshop acrylics

Paul ... Thanks and I pretty much use the method I detailed http://www.planetfigure.com/articles/eye_tutorial-mark_benette/eye-tutorial.html here ... :)

Colin ... Cheers! I liked it as soon as I saw it. Pegaso and I think 1/0th :)

Whitney, Meizi, Andrew and Brian ... Many thanks :)

Carl, Grant, Kev and Adrian ... Thanks guys! :)

Frank ... Thanks :) It is indeed Pegaso ...

Andrew ... many thanks :)

Pedro .. I think it was just at the show :( and thanks!! :)

Todd ... LOL!

Marc ... Many thanks :)

Patrick ... LOL! He also looks a lot like my maternal grandfather! ;)

Ernesto ... Many thanks indeed! :)

Gordy .. Thanks :)

Christos ... Pegaso, cast superbly by YS Masterpieces and about 1/9th scale :)

Giovanni ... Many thanks :)

Brian .. Thanks mate :)

Les and Kevin ... Thanks!! :)

Alexandros ... Thanks (y)

Frank .. thanks again :)(y)

FeR ... Many thanks! :)

Tommi ... Many thanks see below for palette and I think the transitions need softening a touch more on the bottom part of the face :)

David ... Thank you! :)

Marcel ... Many thanks again! :)

Phew......

So the palette was ...

Base .. Vallejo Mahogany Sand
mid .... GW Dwarf Flesh
High ... GW Elf Flesh
2nd High ... Vallejo Light Flesh

I used my usual glazes of Vallejo Dark Prussian Blue for beard and around the eyes and Games Workshop Blood Red to add red flushes around the middle of the face etc.

Picture!!!

Re: Heinz Guderian Bust

Hi Mark!
Nothing yet about this bust in Pegaso website, if you have a minute can you take a pic of the box art?

Re: Heinz Guderian Bust

Mark
this is almost frighteningly realistic. The notoriously difficult light skin tone is beautifully handled.
Let's be honest though it's Dennis Moloney dressed up.:p
Cheers

Re: Heinz Guderian Bust

Very nice work on this face. Maybe it needs a little point of light in his cheekbones, like you did in the septum. It would give more contrast to the face.

Cheers!

Re: Heinz Guderian Bust

Pedro ... There is no box art! Just a plain Black Pegaso box ... sorry :(

Derek ... Many thanks :) I tried to keep it simple and clean and yes its really just Dennis! Frying Tonight!!!! ;)

Rodrigo ... Many thanks :)

Alex .. Thanks again ... Yes I may yet add a slightly harder Highlight to the cheek but I am trying really hard not to go too far :)

The hat is almost done, some tidying and tweaking and a red dot ;)

Tunic started still lots to do ....

Some advice please .. the ribbon and small medal on the tunic front? What is it? a colour picture reference would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks for looking in :)
