I picked up these two figures years ago (either 1998 or ‘99) at Euromilitaire when I was just getting back into the hobby after a very long lay-off (note: these are NOT my own paintjobs!).

Since then my painting has improved, and recently I stripped them both down again with a view to re-doing them from scratch (and making a better job of it this time!).

But I’m at a loss to recall who made these figures because the boxes and any printed inlays are long since gone and all I have left for reference are the photos you see here, which were enclosed with them and which I kept filed away. I’ve searched the net but have so far drawn a blank on both, so they must be long OOP (by whoever it was that made them).

Both are 120 mm. The Swiss hornblower is resin and the Byzantine guy is metal (with a resin fish/dragon standard).

Anyone else familiar with these figures or have either of them?

Hi,
the first figure is indeed the Mike Blank productions 120mm standard bearer of Uri (which was then later brought out by Oakwood Studios). The second one is a peice by Aquila and named Byzantine Standard-Bearer.Could it be that you bought these two figures at our stand (Frank-Miniatures) at Euro-Militaire ???
Regards
Pete

Thanks for the feedback, fellas.

Pete, I have seen you guys at EuroMil over the years so it's quite possible I bought them from your stand, but to be honest it's so long ago that I don't remember specifically where I picked them up.
