I've decided: The head stays as it is - no brushstroke will be changed!
The next stage that I tackle today is the "Gymnastiorka", the uniform blouse of our Towarisch Leitenant.
And what was meant for the cap, that also applies to the uniforms of the Red Army: The colors of blouses and pants had an almost infinite variety - here is a small selection ...:
Even in the following black-and-white photo - it was taken in 1945 - you can clearly see how variegated the troupe came along ...:
I would like to have a color for my Gymnastiorka which is similar but not the same as that of the cap - and at the same time "calm", to create a good "background" for all the details Palo has sculpted so well.
First, I exchanged the green of the cap for the quieter "juice green" and the skin color to lighten against "titanium white".
I also added another color to the base color, namely "Sfumato Shade Gray". This shade of grey in particular makes the tone "calm" ...:
With this I have painted the front part of the collar and a part of the Gymnastiorka - the shadows are created by the gradual addition of "Burnt Umbra" - lightening by the cautious increase of the white part.
Pure white alone was not used to avoid the effect of "chalkiness"!
What do you think of the result ...?
Cheers
