Thanks all, I found a Citadel bizarrely called "Khermi brown". This as a basic pale grey with a slight reddish brown hue. As near as dam it.
Great, all set for how to highlight and shade it?

...

In case anyone is still interested, here's a great photo from the London Scottish Regiment's website showing natural variation from item to item:

Redder, more orange and paler, greyer, examples - all in one photo. Because this is a single image it proves how much the colour of individual items can vary (while digital photos cannot be trusted for absolute colour they are fairly reliable in terms of relative colour).

It would have been easier to convert it, and paint a Cameron of Erracht tartan.
Only joking,
Carl.

This will likely never be resolved on these pages, as we have an Irishman and a Scot by descent (yours truly) debating this ad nauseum.:D;)

BTW, if anyone has a Drum Major Goodman (the Realmodels one, NOT the All The Queen's Men version) figure lying about, I'd be sincerely interested in purchasing it.
I missed out on the kit the first time around.

The Englishman, the Irishman, and a Scotsman. Where discussing a colour, and the Englishman said." Thats what I'm painting, the real models version." LOL.
I have just finished it, I wouldn't know what It would be worth stripped?
Thanks for the education,
Carl.

And none of them "walked into a pub"? :D

I wouldn't think of talking you out of your Goodman figure. I was wishful in my thinking with the hope that someone out there might have an unneeded one lying around. I know, silly me.

Mike the P&P would be outrageous he must weigh 1.5 lbs, it's a big lump of white metal.
As for the Pub that would be unusual:D
Carl.
